Slow Motion

Frames per second relates to slow motion film by acting as an independent variable. How slow a film/clip will be depends on how many frames per second the clip was shot at. For example, if a part of a film is being shot at 120fps, and whoever is editing the shot plays it back, that part will appear to be 4 times slower than the original clip. Filmmakers use these techniques in their work to really show how slow motion can affect a scene, and how appealing the certain slow motion shot can be to the human eye.
