Question 4. Neo expressed the feeling that he didn't believe in fate because he didn't like the idea that he was not in charge of his life. How do you feel about this statement? Was Neo's life determined by fate? Are our lives fate-determined? Did the Oracle's prophecies support or contradict the idea of fate?
My answer - I personally understand why Neo has this certain opinion upon the topic of fate. I wouldn't want someone else to be able to determine what direction my life will go in. I feel as though Neo's life was sort of driven by fate because anyone else could have waken up from the virtual world. But at the time, Neo was the only one who had. When it comes to our own lives, I have a feeling that some things happen by fate, but most events that happen in our lives occur because of the choices we make in life. Similarly to the Oracle's prophecies, what will happen to Neo and everyone else who's with him will ultimately be because of one person's decision(s). But at the end of the day, is there a possible way to prove that fate is real?
