Reverse Engineering Project remade scene

In order to recreate this scene, I honestly just needed to remember which camera angles were used and which character was talking next. The first thing I did when working on this project was plan out the costumes that my friend Savannah and my sister would be wearing. I had asked Savannah (who had played Jules) to bring a purple dress that looked similar to the one Jules wore in this scene. Although they were two different types of 'purple', I feel as though it was styled in a very similar way. Since Rue's clothes aren't exactly showed all that much in the scene, my sister didn't have to worry too much about what to wear; We just made sure she had a jacket on, since it was clear that's what Rue wore throughout the show.

Next I had to make sure that my phone would be able to see Savannah and Amirah's faces as we filmed. Since the entire scene was at night, we used flashlights, lanterns, and the street lights to illuminate both girls' faces. I definitely feel like having a professional camera would have been useful for this tactic since we had to refilm a few scenes because they were either too dark or too light. Thankfully, I feel like the clips came out pretty nicely.

When it came to the script, both girls were told to read over it a few times until they felt comfortable with the words. Since Savannah had acted in plays/musicals before, she got the hang of it pretty quickly. My sister on the other hand messed her lines up a few times, but eventually also caught on. For me personally, it was fun to see the scene come to life with only two actors who had never worked on something like this before. Although I had not wrote the scene myself, it felt like something I had created was being brought to life and the experience was ultimately satisfying. I'm glad we all had a fun time recreating this scene, and I would 100% do it again.

Now, if I were to redo this scene, I feel like I'd want to spend more time on it rather than film it in one night. Since Savannah was majorly busy that week, we didn't have that much time to film, so we pretty much had to rush through. I would also have liked to complete the final scene with Rue and Jules on the bike, but we didn't have enough time to finish filming. So, in conclusion, I believe that I could have spaced out our time a bit more, maybe started filming a little earlier, and also took the time to explain to my sister and Savannah exactly what I wanted for the scene.
