Blogpost 10/17

For my first film of the year, I'm planning on one of the main characters being an angel sent down from heaven on an important mission. Because of this idea I have, I wanted to begin by researching the different types of angels there are and what their specific tasks are. I grew up going to church all the time, so I quickly developed the image of what an angel might look like (dressed in white, large wings, a holy aura, etc.), but instead of going off of what I think, I'd like to actually know what an angel may have looked like when it came to how human beings perceived them.

Inspiration -                     Human Perception versus Biblical Perception

These painting inspire me to acknowledge both concepts of
what angels could have looked like; Angels were known to be unbelievably
beautiful (at least from a human's perspective) but also terrifyingly large
(perhaps from a biblical stance)
The Angel character might have a
makeup look similar to these

Characters

Main Character - seems to be normal - wears dark, plain colors - says there's nothing special about her

Angel - regular angel but wants to work her way up to being an archangel - always dresses in white - bubbly personality

Plot

The main character is a normal girl who doesn't think there's really anything special about her. She is then one day visited by an angelic looking woman who claims to have been sent to Earth on a special mission.

(Inspired by movies such as It's A Wonderful Life)

Techniques

Focus on coloring: white balance - dreary for the MC, bright for Angel

Shots: quick beginning to show the normal life of the MC - worm's eye for when the Angel is descending

Background: most likely to be set outside, some inside (for MC only)
