Blogpost 5/8

For this week's blogpost, I wanted to be sure of all the items I need in order to decorate my display for the District Arts Festival. I'd discussed in a previous blogpost how I wanted each of the sides of my display to be a different color (specifically, white, black, and a very dark blue). I also noted other materials I would have to buy myself, like the fairy lights for my "An Angel's Wish" side. Taking these items into consideration, I decided to create a list of the materials I would have to purchase myself in order for my display to fit the initial plan I had for it.

    Brainstorming -

I first started with the paint I would need for each side of my display. I wanted to know which store would have the most reasonable/best prices for paint, so I decided to ask my father, since he is very knowledgeable about the pricing of certain items in certain stores, and my older sister, since she is the renowned painter of our family. They both agreed that getting paint from Walmart is probably our best bet. Next I asked my older sister which kind of paint would be best to place on top of cardboard. She suggested the kind below:

paint colors to get - white, black, and blue

I then went into searching for where I could find fairy lights that would fit 36" wide. This time, I asked both of my parents if they knew the best place for me to find fairy lights for my display. They said Walmart was also a great choice to buy the fairy lights from, so I went to their website to search for some. I was lucky enough to find the kind I imagined my initial display plan would have, not to mention I would only have to buy two boxes in order for them to fit across one side of my display.

Lastly I remembered I need an end table and chair to go along with my display. I'd asked my parents where I'd be able to find an end table, and they decided that we try to either A) find one lying around the house or B) try to look for one at a thrift shop. Finding a table at a thrift store will probably be easier since they're more likely to have the kind of tables I'm looking for specifically. Below is an image of an end table I may want mine to look like.
